ECHOCARDIOGRAM ULTRASOUND:
An echocardiogram checks how your heart's chambers and valves are pumping blood through your heart. Echocardiograms are a wonderful tool for you and your patient and can be used in the diagnosis of valvular stenosis or sclerosis, valvular reguration, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, cardiomyopathy and pleural effusion. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the united states. Ultrasound is safe, effective tool that can be used to prevent heart disease for your practice.
INDICATIONS FOR AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM:
Chest pain, malignant hypertension, congestive heart failure, Stroke, Atrial Fibrillation, Syncope and collapse, Shortness of breath, murmurs, stroke atrial fibrillation syncope and collapse shortness of breath.
UPPER OR LOWER EXTREMITY ARTERIAL ULTRASOUND:
An average of 1 in 20 people over the age of 50, or as many as 10 million Americans suffer from PAD. This disease is caused by narrowing of the arteries that can reduce blood flow in the legs and arms. A simple arterial duplex ultrasound will detect PAD in its early stages and prevent further damage. PAD if undetected may lead to gangrene and ultimately amputation or death.
INDICATIONS FOR ARTERIAL ULTRASOUND
Leg pain, rest pain, abdominal aneurysm, pre/post surgery, diabetes, smoker patient, non-healing ulcers, claudication.
CAROTID ULTRASOUND:
Stroke is the leading cause of death in the United States and a leading disabler of older American. The carotid ultrasound is a simple exam that may be performed in 30 minutes in your office and could save years on your patient’s lives.
INDICATIONS FOR CAROTID ULTRASOUND
Aphasia, syncope, lack of coordination, pre op, slurred.
UPPER OR LOWER EXTREMITY VENOUS ULTRASOUND:
This exam shows the circulation in the large veins in the legs or arms. This exam shows any blockage in the veins by a blood clot or thrombus formation, bakercyst and venous insufficiency.
INDICATIONS FOR VENOUS ULTRASOUND
Swelling, pain and redness in the legs or arms.
PEDIATRIC ECHODIOGRAM:
Pediatric echocardiography is an ultrasound, or sonogram, of a child's heart. An echocardiogram, or echo, uses sound waves to create images and videos of the heart. Doctors use echo to evaluate how well your child's heart is working and identify any problems.
INDICATIONS FOR PEDIATRIC ECHOCARDIOGRAM:
Heart murmur, chest pain, aneurysm, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, congestive heart failure, pericarditis, valve disease
